George is a "500 Startups" Alumni and a PhD Candidate in Computer Science. In 2013 he was part of the team that won Microsoft's ImagineCup that went on to represent Cyprus at the world finals in Russia. In September of the same year, he won the Startup prize at HachCyprus 2013 as well as the Best Mobile Application Award. In 2014, he followed that success with 2nd place at the Microsoft Indoor Localisation Research Competition.
He is also a published author of more than 10 journals in various high-profile research conferences over the world and has led a number of highly successful projects including:
a) SmartLab, a testbed for testing smartphone network applications presented at Washington DC where he participated after receiving a "Usenix Student Award";
b) Rayzit, an award-winning crowd messaging technology, funded by Nokia and Microsoft Finland that delivers your questions, inquiries and ideas to the closest users around;
c) Anyplace, a state-of-the-art Indoor Navigation Platform funded by Cywee, Taiwan and University of Cyprus.
In addition, he founded Lifey which increases successful response and survival rates following a medical emergency. Lifey participated in one of the most prestigious acceleration programs at Silicon Valley run by "500 Startups".
