Chartered Accountant. Graduate of the London School of Economics (BSc Econ. First Class Honours and MSc Acc. & Fin.) and of the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago (MBA Finance & Marketing) as a Fulbright scholar. Mr Savvides worked in London with Touche Ross/Deloitte (audit & consultancy), with NKS Eurotrade (financial management) and as Accountant & Company Secretary with London Forfaiting Co PLC (listed on the London Stock Exchange)).

He returned to Cyprus in 1993 holding the post of Managing Director of the Shacolas Group and later Executive Chairman and CEO at Euroinvestment & Finance (a Piraeus Bank/Shacolas Group JV).

He has served for many years on the board of a number of locally listed and private companies,including the Cyprus Trading Corporation, NK Shacolas Holdings, Woolworth Cyprus, Christis Dairies, House of Beauty, Interamerican Insurance, Philiki Insurance, Paneuropean Insurance, Atlantic Insurance, ITTL (Mall of Cyprus) and Philoktimatiki.
